Quiz Night, Zorbing and cooking!

last wednesday night all the boarders took part in our Quiz night! Split into 7 different teams, we all answered a variety of questions to win the special prizes! The first round was Maths, some difficulties there, also alot of "why do we have to do maths after school??!!" Next round was Sports, followed by music, a spanish round for our spanish pupils and finally a general knowledge round! our winning team won with 24 correct answers out of 33! Im sure they will happily collect their prizes  from Mr Callow!

 Sunday we had some cookery with Susanne in the kitchen and Zorbing in the gym. Chocolate chip muffins were made and then eaten at supper. The zorbing got some good reviews from the boarders, all enjoyed running into each other whilst inside big blow up balls!

Longleat Safari park!

This weekend gone the boarders went for a trip to Longleat. With our coach booked we were on our way, heading towards the huge estate. The bus was full of excitement, especially from our spanish and younger students. Our packed lunches were eaten before we headed off in separate directions to explore the Animal Kingdom, the sea lions and gorillas on the boat ride, a jungle train ride, to feed some deer and get lost in a maze! After wandering around the park our bus picked us up to go on our safari! lots of oohs and ahhs were heard from the children as they saw new animals up close. Giraffes, Zebras, lions, tigers, wolves, camels and Rhinos were just some of the many animals seen on our safari. A quiet bus on the way home after a big day in the rain and fresh air, a good sleep was had by all last night!

The beginning of a new year

So we are all back to start our new school year. The boarding house is looking crisp and clean, ready to be overun by numerous childrens clothing, posters, sports kit and mess all round. We have some new additions to our residents family, Mr Emsley, Miss Palmer and Mr Wheatley join us in the boarding house. First week back and already the kids are involved in nightime activities and settling themselves back into routine. We have some new boarders which have all started to get comfortable with this new environment which is great to see. This term our boarding house fun night is on a wednesday, so look forward to lots of photos of what we get up to here. This weekend everything will begin again. Enrichment starts up and our fixtures get underway. The boarders are looking forward to a trip to Longleat which will be lovely, if the weather holds up. keep up to date with all of our activities in the boarding house as the term progresses!
