Sunday Skiing

For last weeks Sunday activity, the boarders all went skiing. After the usual pyjama breakfast and relaxed Sunday morning, they got changed into their track suits and winter gear, and filled up the minivan. We drove 45 minutes to Churchill, and once there they got all the gear they would need for the skiing or snowboarding.

I must say that considering the boarders are 13 or younger, they all have amazing skill when it comes to skiing and snowboarding! They all seemed to have a great time, even if the dry slopes were a bi harder to ski on than proper snow.
By the time it came for us to leave, none of them wanted to get off the slope, so I think it's safe to say they thoroughly enjoyed it.

I hope you all have fantastic Easter holidays,

Numbers Night

Last Wednesdays's whole house night was a little bit different from the other ones this term.
Straight after night prayers the boarders were split into three teams, and explained the rules of the game that they would be playing.

The game was called numbers, and there were three coloured cards (a different colour for each team) spread around the school grounds. Each card had a different number printed on it from 1 through 50, and then 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100. The aim of the game was to find as many cards of your teams colour, and for every card the team found, they added the number on the card to their score.

The cards were quite well hidden, and spread out over the entire grounds so each team only found around 30 of their 55 cards, but that didn't stop them from searching for half an hour.
Thankfully as we get further into spring, it stays lighter for longer so that made the game a little bit easier!

I am sorry for the small amount of photos, but as the kids were spread across the grounds it was hard to take pictures, especially as they were all running around!

Just Dance competition

After the success of the open mike night a few weeks ago, it was no surprise that Wednesday night was a huge hit with the boarders.
Everyone sat in St Bedes after night prayers with their tuck and took turns at competing against each other on Just Dance on the Wii. Three kids competed at a time, but that didn't stop those who weren't competing from copying the dance moves on the screen!

Everyone had a go, and some of the dance moves were very impressive, as were the scores!
The boarders even managed to make sure all the staff had a turn, which I'm not sure they were overly pleased about!
Everyone had a great night, filled with laughter and some very interesting dancing. I think it's safe to say that by the end of the night everyone was exhausted from all the dancing!
